so skinny that makes you puke!
build she has a fairly average build, neither skeletal nor plump but somewhere in between, though most would refer to her as slender. her chest is neither so large that it draws unwelcome attention nor so small that she could be mistaken for a boy or a child. overall her figure is satisfactory, but she has practically nothing in the way of hips.
hair color&&style her hair is naturally a honey blonde color, occasionally touched by lighter highlights, but she loves the natural color so usually leaves it alone. it is thick and wavy, falling just past her shoulders when it is down, though it becomes horribly frizzy whenever it rains.
eye color hazel
heritage her mother's ancestors were italian; her father's were english and french
height 5'4"
clothing style when she's staying home, she'll just throw on a baby tee and sweatpants. but if she's going anywhere, it's always style over comfort. she usually wears jeans, with tank tops, blouses, or sweaters, depending on the occasion and the weather. she nearly always wears heels, or else flip flops or other sandals on more casual occasions, but never tennis shoes. and she never leaves the house without makeup, at least powder and lip gloss.
flaws she is young enough to still have horrible acne when greatly stressed, and she has a scar on her left knee from falling the first time she tried to walk down a flight of stairs while wearing heels (at the age of eight)
strong points her lips which have just the right amount of fullness (in her opinion), and her hair as long as it isn't raining

anything else her parents divorced when she was ten. her father is/was a guitarist in a band that never went anywhere, and became an alcoholic, and her mother couldn't take it anymore so she threw him out, and madeline hasn't seen him since. her mother remarried three years ago, when madeline was fifteen. she was discovered by her record label when she sang her alma mater at her high school graduation, and offered a contract on the spot. she signed it against her mother's approval, because her mother has hated everything about the music business due to its effect on madeline's father. that summer, madeline moved out and came to la to live with her sister, who moved out a couple years ago and works as an actress.
she had been dating the same guy all through her junior and senior years of high school, but they broke up when she told him she was leaving for california - or rather, he dumped her, because he said he wouldn't know her anymore after six months in hollywood. she secretly still wants him back, though she'd never admit it to anyone, even herself. instead she dates as many different guys as she can, heedless of the effect it has on her reputation, and is not at all interested in anything serious.
but then their mask fell!

rp sampleAs Lucy straightened from her curtsey, she noticed the King's eyes entirely fixed on her. Not that this surprised her in the least. After all, had that not been precisely the point of coming here in the first place? Well, perhaps not the primary purpose; that was actually so Lucy could meet him and learn as much as she could about him...more specifically, learn whether it would likely benefit her more to keep him on the throne or attempt to take it for herself. But even as brief as their meeting had been thus far, she had already pretty nearly decided that having him on her side was absolutely necessary. Thus, the secondary purpose for this audience: so that Lucy could do everything in her power to ensure that that happened. Not that she would be actively trying to charm him or anything of the sort, although that was exactly what she was sure her fools of advisors would have wished. But Lucy was certain, having now met the man, that he would see right through such an attempt. And even if that were not the case, the last thing she wanted was for the King to become so enchanted by her that he would seek her hand. No, charm and seduction played no part in her role today. She did not want the King to fall in love with her; indeed, she scoffed mentally at the very notion. But she did want him to believe that she supported him - which was, actually, the truth - and for him to value that support.
Then he smiled at her, and Lucy felt her own lips curving upward in an answering smile, though her smile revealed no more of her own inner thoughts than King Ambrose's did. But her smile widened a fraction upon hearing the King's compliment. Already she was succeeding. "Your Majesty is too kind," she said sweetly, though a sparkle in her blue-green eyes prevented the comment from seeming shy or a mere formality. Then he took her hand, bent down and placed a kiss upon it, and Lucy felt her pleasure increasing. Charming he certainly was, and strong; though one would think neither of these things upon first view. Indeed, Lucy herself had not predicted anything of the sort when she had first laid eyes on him. There was far more to this King than was easily apparent...much like Lucy herself. She felt she would be quite glad to continue the acquaintance, though she would have to somehow keep her advisors from finding out.
Instead of releasing her hand, as Lucy had expected, the King instead tucked it in his elbow and moved to her side as he spoke again. A much more personal, more intimate arrangement, which Lucy found quite to her liking. This made it seem more as though they were equals, rather than monarch and subject, and Lucy definitely preferred it that way. "I assure you, your Majesty, there is nothing to apologize for," she said. Nothing except having taken the crown from within the grasps of Lucy herself and each of her fellow Dukes and Duchesses, anyway; for she was certain that all of them must have harbored royal ambitions at one point or another. But of course she could not say that to King Ambrose; or could she? Perhaps if she worded it just right. "At least, not to me," she continued. "Though I would imagine that not everyone was entirely thrilled to hear of your Majesty's quick ascent. I was quite surprised myself," she admitted. "Indeed, I did not believe the rumors until I had actually received your courteous invitation." There, that would do...tell enough of the truth to make it believable, and any omissions (such as the actual extent of Lucy's first reaction) would be far less obvious. "But as far as your palace-to-be, I can already begin to see the beauty which it will soon become. A true work of art, which any Ashtonite would be proud of." She spoke with the pride she had always felt for her home duchy and their passion for art in all its forms.
After a moment, the King led her over to the window, and Lucy smiled to feel the warm late spring sunlight on her face. For a moment, she gazed out the window at the magnificent grounds of the palace in progress. She turned back to the King just in time to see an odd smile pass over his lips for a moment, but it disappeared so quickly that Lucy thought she must have imagined it, or it had been a trick of the light. And she forgot it entirely as he began speaking again. "Is your Majesty referring to his company, or his surroundings?" she asked lightly. "I should be honored to help my King in any way I can."
