cameron firth ----------------------------- we'll talk about now and the past what the future holds hanging out with not much to do, just aimless with each other ----------------------------- tag !! joey Food. It was an absolute necessity if she was to get anything done the rest of the day. Cameron smiled at the photographer as she stood and smiled. She was waiting, patiently, for the flash to stop going off and to be free of the lacy contraption that she was being forced to wear at the moment. She loved clothes, don't get her wrong, but the lace was getting rather itchy in some rather inconvenient places as she posed, craning her neck as she moved in and out of the various positions that she was being ordered into. This job would be over soon and she could then get lunch. That was all she was really thinking of at the moment as she smiled when the people from the line said that she could go. She was done! Joyous!
She walked demurely to the model's changing area and got into her street clothes, which were considerably more understated then the lacy garb that she was peeling herself out of at the moment. There was something that was a little bit of a relief in getting out of the itchy lace and into normal clothes. She was wearing a rather understated black cotton skirt and a restrained green t-shirt. This was comfort, not lace. She didn't like lace, it was her least favorite thing to model in, all the little itchy bits everywhere, it chafed and even though it did normally look amazing, she would much rather wear satin or silk, she loved the feel of those on her skin. Even so, the feeling of the cotton on her skin was amazingly soft. She smiled as she pulled the last few pins out of her hair, letting it down onto her shoulders.
She escaped, heading out to doors and to the streets as fast as she could. Sure, it may have not been the most demure exit that she could have made, but she definitely did not care about demure at the moment. Today, she had her car, a rarely driven Mini Cooper S. She slid in and headed towards food, she wanted Chinese at the moment and there was only one place that she could think of that she really liked in the city: Mr. Chow. Sure, it may be a bit weird with all the non-Asian waiters, but the place had the best General Tso's Chicken this side of the Pacific. Sure, she maybe a Southern girl, supposedly more inclined to the sweet, but she had developed a taste for the spicy stuff over the years and that was what she was in the mood for. Or maybe an orange chicken, either dish worked for her.
But of course, LA traffic was not in her favor at the moment and so she was stuck, waiting for the light to turn and the herds ahead of her to thin out a little bit. Lunch hour for the entire city, or so it seemed. She pulled out her cellphone and flipped it open, looking for someone that she could have lunch with so that she wasn't stuck on her own. Thumbing through the contact list, she came across Joey and smiled. She hadn't talked to him in ages and today seemed as good as any other to see if he was open for lunch. Still immobilized by traffic, she thumbed out a quick text to him. Hey. You, me, lunch, Mr. Chow, half hour? See you there! <3 Cami. Short, sweet, and too the point, the way that any text should be, she pressed the send button and closed her phone, putting it in the passenger seat with her purse.
After a few more minutes of waiting, the traffic started moving and thinned out considerably as she drove closer and closer to the odd little chinese restaurant. She arrived a little bit quicker then she had imagined she would and decided to get a table. Even if he wasn't able to show, she was still going to get her spicy chicken something. The interior of the place, well, it was dramatic with the stylized balck and white Chinese-esque paintings and detailing on the walls. She smiled, quietly thanking the host who took her to her table and gave her a menu and a glass of water. Now all there was to do was wait, she would find out soon enough if he was gonna show.

Five boys littered the room, a room they used as their practise space. Joseph's younger brother sat on the stool behind the drum kit. Mattie was not restricted to playing the drums only, like his older brother he had other musical talents, but preferred being a drummer - he rarely got the chance. He had been asked to play with his friends, fellow music students from college because their drummer had been hurt quite seriously in an accident, and he recommended Mattie's skills as a drummer to fill in for him at the band's up and coming shows. They weren't famous and they weren't looking to be famous. They played in college student bars and clubs, at festivals and wherever else they could. They were musicians, they were playing as a band because they loved to do so. Mattie himself was more into the music production, that was what he was in college for but it didn't stop him playing. His older brother sat leaning his squishy butt on the back of a chair as he listened to them do their thing. Very reminiscent to The Used, but with a less crazy sound on the vocals.
Joey was always impressed. He was sat curving a pencil on the sketchpad he held flatly out on his hand. They wanted to sell some CD's, people get bugging them and bugging them for demo's and the just couldn't keep directing people to download links online whilst they were at some gig. They thought about giving them away, they didn't want any money for them but in order to make the CD's, they needed money. In order to pay for time in the recording studio, to pay for equipment and everything else, they needed the money. Joey was giving his services free of charge, so long as he totally got into to them play for free. He was drawing them an 'album cover' or more like artwork to clip into the blank CD case to liven it up a little bit. Actually, he had drawn a few but he preferred giving people options if he had the time to. He just kept getting distracted by the music, they sounded really good, he was enjoying it. He would have to leave soon, they had to pack up their shit and drive about two hours to the venue of their show. They were playing in the early evening but they had to get there and get sorted out.
The boys began packing away their gear, though they seemed more content fucking around and play-wrestling with each other. They were a little dorky. He heard a dull drilling sound and realised he had received a text message, his green sidekick cell phone was vibrating about the place within the depths of his laptop bag. Joseph cleared his throat as he fished around for it and scrolled for the messages, a smile coming to his lips when he saw that his friend Cami had sent it. How nice, lunch with his galpal. She was a model and they had met on more than one occasion before becoming quite close friends. He didn't need to message the lass back, she knew he would show up. "Mattie" Joey said, looking at his brother who was taller and so skinny. Longer hair than Joey and the original brown colour. They had the same nose, bless them. Couldn't get rid of that thing! "Mattie!" he repeated after failing to get his baby brother's attention and he wandered over, brushing his bangs out of his face, responding quietly. "I gotta go now" he said, thumbing his medical pendant that told people he had epilepsy "I'll come around tomorrow and show you what I've come up with, okay?" Joey asked.
And briefly the two exchanged conversation, arranging they would both be at their parents home for dinner the day after the next. Both of them were momma's boys. Joey had to turn down multiple offers of being driven to the restaurant. It wasn't really all that far and he liked walking. He couldn't drive himself, and felt embarrassed having to ask for rides all the time which was why he had gotten well acquainted with this thing called public transport. As a teenage he relied heavily on his skateboards and bicycles. One day he would drive, though he felt he no longer had the confidence in himself to try it, driving as a passenger on bigger roads beside big vehicle's terrified him! He got a taxi from around the corner and it took him minutes to make it towards Mr Chow. He'd been here a few times before with groups of friends in celebration. After he paid the taxi driver for the short trip, he took off his glasses, using his plaid shirt to clean the lenses. He looked rather adorable.
Plaid button up shirt over a grey thin material shirt. He wore snug jeans that hugged his fuller figure, his chunky thighs that were encased with plaid boxers which peaked out of the top of his jeans but both the shirts he wore covered it. He was having a pattern day! He wore rather calm coloured stripy socks, he was known to be eccentric with his accessories, bright colours and wazzy patterns. He wore a white trilby hat fashionably tilted on the back of his head, oh he looked so Pete Doherty like that, but smarter because he wore his dark framed glasses and he didn't look like he had just snorted a tonne of cocaine. Fresh faced as he walked in, he bit down on his large bottom lip, gripping one of his two lip rings with his front teeth before his eyes spotted Cameron. Joseph began to walk over, moving around a waitress and apologised politely for getting into her way. "Hey darling" he said softly with a smile, resting his hands on the back of the chair he planned to sit on.
