Matt loved dogs, he used to have a german shepherd as a young lad and always held a soft spot for the breed. A guy he worked with had one and Matthew just spoilt that dog rotten, always giving him love and affection whenever he went round. The dog was called Steve. He loved the simplicity in the name, you didn't meet many dogs called Steve. And while his friend Josh was away, Matthew had Steve in his care for a few days and he was in his element and even took the lad out jogging with him. It made him want to get a dog so bad to share his apartment with. He was a simple guy, didn't do clutter and other crap. He lived in a medium sized place with two bedrooms, one was used as a second lounge and it had all his boy toys - guitars, game stations and a pinball machine as well as a futon bed for guests. His bedroom again, was clutter-free and pretty boring. He wasn't into decorating places, he just wanted somewhere to throw down his shit and sit on his ass eating take out food and watching movies. It served it's purpose of keeping him safe, comfortable and simple and he loved it, but it was pretty lonely and having it so bare increased this feeling. Maybe getting a dog wasn't such a bad idea.
They were on their way to Macarthur Park, Matt had Steve on a red leash which was attached to a loose chain around the dog's neck and on his way out of the apartment he picked up a bottle of Dr Pepper that had been chilling in the fridge. The two set off at a comfortable pace, stopping at a corner shop to buy a ball for the german shepherd who patiently waited outside, he had been told he really loved playing with tennis balls over any other kind of toy, or frisbees, but Matt had a habit of nearly knocking out small children and old ladies with frisbees. He was back outside in minutes, pushing his wallet into his jean pocket and he ran his large hand over his toned abs, he was wearing his new DCMA Collective shirt - he had owned the same design before but got it caught and it ripped. He was not impressed and got another, a good way to blow your wages: re-buying shirts! Better than drinking it away, huh? He got a lot of free drinks or drinks bought for him, the perks of knowing a lot of people who liked you and wanted to get you drunk, or buy you a round while you were serving them. Matthew was thankful he worked two jobs, the extra money he had over was always nice. He was saving up for a vacation with friends: sun, sand, booze and boobies. Woo!
They had reached the park, but Matthew didn't let the boy off his leash just yet, a few other dogs were passing around and Steve was as a gentle and loving dog who loved people and other dogs alike, these other dogs might not be so accepting and he didn't want his new best friend to get into some scrap! "I'll let you off you soon, dude" his deep vocals swooned as the two walked side by side, a famous stars and straps baseball cap and his aviators to shield himself from the sunlight. Summer it wasn't, but it could have been with this weather! Though admittedly, it was chillier than usual. In other regions of the United States, it was near snowing, so this weather wasn't bad at all!
