sleep my whole life awayALEX PARKER Alex lay in his rickety old bed, staring at the ceiling that obviously wasn't going to be getting any better. he ran his fingers through his hair, wondering what the hell he was going to do today when he got off work. read? most likely. go out? yeah... no. no way in hell will he leave this place to go clubbing or something with all those other people who just don't have a life other than that. alex rolled over and picked up his small stress ball and tossed it up, clapped his hand aimlessly and caught the ball again. he did that about fifteen more times before deciding that now was late enough. that business woman (whatshername, easton?) was going to come in demanding her latte and her blueberry muffin before heading off to her demanding job that she always went on about as he got everything ready. she was one of the worst on her bad days, but really nice and tipped well on her good days, so he didn't mind her all that much.
The lad slipped out from under his sheets and yawned. he was so tall he nearly hit his head on the ceiling (ouch) and stretched as he walked over to his window and opened it. the sun was just starting to rise and yet he could see a traffic jam being created over yonder. alexander scratched the back of his neck before stripping down into his birthday suit and stepping into his shower and turning it on. a sharp intake of breath as the ice cold water hit his face and ran down his back... and then he exhaled and relaxed as the water started to heat up (slowly, but there you go). he ran his fingers through his morning hair and dribbled some shampoo/conditioner into it, rubbed it around and washed it out. he waited a few more minutes as he cleaned the rest of his... ahem... spectacular body and stepped out. he shook his head around, sending drops of water everywhere (hitting books and mirrors and other things) before he took his towel and wrapped it around his waist. Staring in the mirror, he picked up his razor and thought better of it. today he looked OK with a slight stubble. he'd let it stay.
In the end, walking downstairs and into the cafe, he was quite pleased with himself. he wore a simple white button down shirt, untucked over his old and battered old navy jeans that he had since he was about seventeen. he wiped his hands on them before turned the closed sign around and unlocking the door. he shook out his hair again and took chairs down from the tables and turned on the morning radio - ah, the joy's of living in LA - and some new hit song came on. he wasn't a fan of too much main stream, so he tuned in on a show that a friend of his worked for that featured all kinds of songs (main stream and indie). alex nodded his head to the music as he made himself a cup of coffee and sat down behind the counter to read the paper that was delivered every morning to his door and waited patiently for the first customer of the day to arrive to his (not-so-)amazing cafe.

"Something kinda [ woah )"Nira Hamilton historic novels was fun. The only thing Nira reads in magazines that have her on the front cover. Nira crossed her smooth, tanned legs one over the other and waited around. She stayed in this position when Marcus decided that he was ready for some coffee. The Range Rover pulled over to 'Brewed Awakenings' which wasn't like anyone's Starbucks. Nira rolled her blue eyes. She was pretty sure it wouldn't of killed him to go to a coffee shop that was a little more famous. Marcus was already up and out of the car by the time Nira got out. She was deciding was it worth going into the little coffee place. But she was craving an English muffin at the moment. Stepping out of the truck, Nira placed her white heeled ROXY clad foot onto the sidewalk and closed the door behind her. Nira looked at the coffee shop and shrugged. It was that bad. Hopefully it wasn't going to be one of those places were she was going to be flocked with people asking her sign random things. She doubt it. Nira flipped her brown hair and pulled her sunglasses back onto her face. She unzipped the lime green Juicy Couture hoodie to show off a semi tight gray gray tank top. She had to admit that she did look good. Clad in lime green Juicy Couture and accessorized in Tiffany and Co jewelary. Her hair was reaching down to her chest area and was slightly wavy in a flirty type way. Her full lips were glossed in pink and she looked like a blushing bride. Nira smiled to herself knowing that she did in fact look good for it being the morning. And to top it off, she was rushing out of her house this morning. Walking up the store, Nira pulled open the door. To her susprise the little cafe wasn't soo bad. Seeing that Marcus was getting himself something to drink or eat, whatever, Nira sat herself down at a little table and waited. She placed her gray Louis Vuitton purse on the top of the table and searched inside for her black Sidekick O8. When it was found, Nira began to find herself busy with her phone. After fifteen minutes or so, Nira looked up to see that a boy was at the counter. She didn't get a good look of the boy, but she could of sworn she had seen him somewhere. But she has seen alot of people, so she just simply shrugged the thought off thinking that if she really known who the boy was she would of remember him. He was very attractive, but still couldn't put her finger on who he was. Nira put her Sidekick away and walked up to the counter. It was going to bug her all day if she didn't find out who he was. "Um, excuse me," Nira began as she got up to the counter. "Have I meet you somewhere? I could of sworn I seen you somewhere before but I don't remember where...." Tagged:: Alex Word Count:: 646 Outfit:: HereNotes:: I fail. sleep my whole life awayALEX PARKER A swoosh and the page changed. it's a miracle, i'm actually moving so early in the morning. alexander thought to himself as his eyes began to scan the page for anyone he recognized. nope, not a soul. he turned to the next section of the paper which was simply the news. he read the front page article and skipped onto page three where it was continued. he was engrossed in the article about warfare that suddenly, a man appeared before him dressed in standard chauffeur gear. he cleared his throat and stood up, pushing in his stool. he ran his fingers through his hair awkwardly and offered the man a coffee and his choice of pastry. the man took the offer and handed him a five dollar bill, telling him to keep the chance. alex wasn't making a huge fuss over money, so he smiled, thanked the man and got straight to work on brewing up a fresh pot of coffee and warming up some muffins to go with that. after about five minutes, they were done and everything seemed to be in order. morning's were always slow so he just took his time making sure nothing spilled over the side to make his work look sloppy. he actually recognized the driver before, but for some reason he hardly recognized the girl who had come in with him but sat on the complete other side of the room. he shrugged, thinking she needed a place to rest or something since it looked as though she were in standard jogging gear or something as her fingers flew across her keypad. alex smirked slightly at the sight of her and turned on his heel, returning to the counter and to his article. he took a bite out of a cookie and place it on the lower counter below the main one and tapped his foot against the bottom of the stool to the beat.
It was a few minutes later that he recognized the same green outfit, except it was right in front of him blocking the view to the door. alex raised his eyes a little bit to be greeted by cleavage until he quickly sat up straight, a pale pink appearing upon his tanned cheeks as he made sure his eyes didn't stray from her face. not that they were going to now that she started talking. it wasn't as though he heard much of what she said, no matter how formal it was, but it was the fact that her voice seemed so familiar. it seemed so... old. like something that you've forgotten and now you're suddenly remembering. he watched her carefully, not taking in any of what she was saying and only concentrating on where he had heard the voice before. it was on a family friend. the daughter of one of his father's many rich business partners. and then it hit him and his face cracked a large, sexy smile that was quite rare for him to do. "hey, hamilton." he said with a smirk, surely she'd recognize that even after all these years. i swear to god, if she didn't he'd have a fit and then maybe she'd remember. "why don't you try thinking back to a barbecue back when you were in diapers and i watched you swim around the kiddy pool?" he suggested arching a brow and sitting up straight as he grabbed a glass and a towel and began to wipe it squeaky clean (not that it wasn't already) so he'd have something to do with his hands.
He half wondered if she would remember who he was. he was told he was a memorable person, but sometimes people could just say that to make him happy. and that was back to right after he had moved here at age seventeen. ah, those were good times... but rather than remember, he focused himself on returning to the matter at hand with the girl whom he had found so amusing, but a little too outgoing for his taste. no matter how beautiful she happened to be.

"Something kinda [ woah )"Nira Hamilton Nira said. Last time she had seen him was when she was about ten. He was a shy person, and she was outgoing. It was an odd match for them to be friends. He would usually want to read all the time and she always wanted to be out and about, yet they were still close friends. "You look so different, but in a good way.". It was true. Alex looked handsom. She liked the fact that his hair was in like a messy yet cute sorta way. She couldn't help but blush. She never thought of Alex as an attractive person until today. He looked different. But in a good way. Ubviously she did too. Last time they seen each other she was still in a training bra and wore her hair in pigtails, now she was busty and flipping her long brown hair like it was noone's business. Not to mention that she was working the runway. Smiling off again, Nira thought of something to say. "So, uhh, this is your place?" Nira asked. If it was, then she thought it was pretty cool he was running his own thing. She could never do something like that. She'd be to busy out partying with her friends and traveling for it. Nira stook a seat at the stool in front of him and placed her bag on the counter. It was kinda weird running into him like this, she wished she was dressed alittle bit more tasteful. He probably didn't care though. He was what, nineteen now? She was still seventeen. He could still think of her as the little girl that hung around him all the time; an immature spoiled brat who played with Barbies. Nira bit down on her lower lip, tasting the bubblegum flavor of her lipgloss. Ah, she really hoped he didn't think that of her. He had seen her in diapers and in the kidde pool for God's sake. How attractive? Her cheeks turned a slight redish color at the thought, but it soon went away. Nah, he couldn't think that of her. Could he?Nira ran her hand through her hair and looked around. Marcus obviosuly got the hint that the two was catching up, so he moved to another end of the cafe to leave them alone. Nira smirked over at him silently thanking him. Turning her attention back to Alex, she let out another smile. Who would of thought she would be sitting here in alittle cafe with an old time friend? She sure didn't. She felt like these were one of those rare moments, were things just seem to stop. And just to think that she was going to miss out on this moment to go to Starbucks. "So what else are doing out here in California?" Nira said trying to spark up some type of conversation. Nira wasn't a boring person, so coming up with things to say came naturally to her. Even though she could tell Alex was still his shy self. "Still reading books alike always?" Nira teased and then added a flirtly smirk. It was easy to be playful around Alex since he didn't take things so seriously. Though she hoped he got out of his shy staged from back then. sleep my whole life awayALEX PARKER She was hot, he couldn't deny that. he exhaled and folded up the last page he had been looking at and flipped it to the cover. awkwardly enough, there sat vivan's face for all the world to see. how awkward would that be? having his ex staring up at him like that, especially when he wasn't entirely over her and regretted jumping to conclusions like that. argh, how could he have been so stupid to think that she was sleeping around behind his back? she wasn't too happy about the new arrangements either, apparently, but after a while he began to heal, still taking awkward steps with girls as usual, but he slowly began to heal. "i could say the same about you." he said, his thick british accent a little more obvious now that he was slowly settling into a few short syllables per conversation. another slow smile spread across his adorable face and two small dimples popped out before they disappeared again into the rest of his cheeks. he ran his fingers along his stubble and suddenly wished he had shaved, give the girl a better impression - try to prove that he actually wasn't a freak who was poor and couldn't make enough money to hold the rent of the relatively nice apartment above him.
He laughed a hearty laugh as the door opened and the regular woman who obviously had to be somewhere - and fast - jogged up to him. fortunately, he had her iced cappuccino ready to go as she slammed three dollars onto the table and left without even saying 'good morning'. not that it bothered alex all that much. "thanks. and yeah. i bought it the moment i came here in '05... it was cheap then, but i renovated it a bit, so the price has gone up. don't think i'm selling though." he said as he wiped the table. "do you... like it?" he offered, trying to make an effort to participate in the conversation.
She looked different. more sophisticated, more in control. kind of reminded him from when she was younger and she had this knack for telling him what to do. and seeing as he didn't really mind doing half those things, he just did it without protest. the thought brought that slow smile back onto his face and a laugh into his eyes. she was beautiful now, but of course, this hollywood glamor seemed to have gotten to her somehow. she has changed a lot, but some of it didn't seem like the good kind of change. it seemed she had gotten cocky or something, relying a lot on makeup or clothing for beauty. sure, she still believed in that beauty lies on the inside type of thing, but he still wasn't sure. not that he was complaining... this was his little nira, nirii, or his little angel that he loved to tease, tickle and hear her sing-songy laugh. "what am i doing out here in california? well, after i dropped out i just felt like a thrill ride, and so i came to the city of dreams, hung out a little more with keaton and made myself a life, if you know what i mean." he said, turning away and grabbing some wrapper off the floor and chucking it into the trash. "'cept i don't really plan on making it big. if it happens, that's alright.. but if it never comes, i'll be happy working here. it's really nice - the blokes you meet and the women with their gossip. quite enjoyable, really." he said, chuckling at the mere mention of them.

"Something kinda [ woah )"Nira Hamilton Nira said. She didn't think she looked that different. Well yeah, maybe her close got better, and her body matured, but it has been about seven years since they last saw each other. How would she look if she went around partying in overalls and little pigtails? When he smiled, two dimples poped out of his cheeks. Aw! How ah-dorable was that? She never really noticed them before but she was glad she did, it was another reason to find him cuter then ever. He was flipping around what look to be a magazine with the cover of Vivan D’Aubigne, a pretty blonde socialite. A ping of envy rushed through Nira's body. Alex wasn't one to read magazine, heck she didn't even think he knew what a magazine was. Nira fliped her long brown hair to the leftside of her shoulder and said, "So you read magazines now? Wow, things really have changed."Nira let out a tiny laugh and then smiled. She noticed that he was growing hair on his face. She placed her right hand on his cheek and touched his stubble. "Ew.Your getting old." Nira said playfully and then stuck out her tongue once she took her hand off his face. It was weird seeing him with hair on his face, not that she mind. "Wow, so you lived here for a while." Nira said. Her on the other hand lived in an estate in Beverly Hills. She would of added that, but he probably could of already guess that. He knew she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth, so it made no sense for her to make it even more obvious.Plus she didn't want him to think she was a spoiled brat who was materialistic and fake. Though there was times were she was. Nira didn't think they place looked too bad, she had seen worst. This place actually looked good. "Yeah, this place is nice." Nira said, then added, "Your going to have to show me around sometime." She then added a smile. For some odd reason she was feeling very relaxed. It was easy feeling relaxed around Alex, mainly because he wasn't like those people who judged her every two seconds, she could feel like a complete dork and still be loved. And she loved that. "Ah, so your just here to live in the moment? Not caring to be a famous celeb? That's a first." Nira said simply. Usually people came out here to show off their talent, make millions of money, and try not to end up like Britney Spears or something. "I'm guessing your not onto the whole party scene either?" Nira said. Keaton was usually seen at parties, usually with Nira. It was kinda of weird that Key didn't tell her that Alex was back. Well, he really didn't like her talking with boys, and Alex was no expections. sleep my whole life awayALEX PARKER He laughed, "oh, most definitely the same about you." which was all but the truth. she looked exactly like the little girl alex loved to tease and carry over his shoulders when he was strong enough (and, according to him that had been ten years old - and that plan had unfortunately backfired, leaving alex with a broken nose and sprained ankle, and leaving nira with a small scar on the back of her calf). "except, much more womanly." he added as an afterthought, properly looking her up and down and gingerly deciding that she had grown into her skin rather well, for someone who was supposed to be seventeen. alex glanced down at the magazine beneath his fingertips and quickly wiped them on his trousers. "ah well... i only started reading them after i broke up with vivian..." he said, trailing off as he coughed into his fist looking down at the laminated image of vivian d'aubinge smiling up at him. hell, he even had a few stashed away with a few pictures of him in them - one of them with him on the freaking cover. he had gotten major publicity for his band after that for about a month, but then it died down as it always did.
Suddenly he felt a little awkward talking about his ex in front of a girl he hadn't seen in about fifty million years. but then again, it kind of felt good to sort of be able to tell everyone this. especially the fact that he wasn't the type of guy to spill everything to key since key was so closely linked to nira and that obviously wasn't the best route with friendship. he was slightly taken aback when her fingers touched the rough of his cheek and he coughed slightly again to signal the awkwardness he was feeling at that moment, but obviously it didn't connect since she poked his face again before finally returning her hand to her side of the table (alex has a personnel bubble he likes to keep to himself - or else his imaginary friend will get you). "getting old? i'm only nineteen. haven't even finished being a teenager yet." he smirked, rolling his eyes slightly as another customer walked through the door and stood beside nira as though she knew she was standing too close. she ordered an orange juice and alex arched his brow - after all, who just came in asking for a fucking orange juice? nevertheless, he got her her drink and she paid him a good ten dollars before walking out. even when the drink was a dollar ninety... strange, these americans. but they left good, healthy tips. alex pocketed the money and returned his attention back to nira.
Alex did a sort of double take on the words. "show you around? hell, nira you kind of grew up not far from here. i'm sure you'd know where everything is." he laughed knowingly before clearing his throat for about the seventeenth time that day and looking serious once again. he fingered one of the books under the counter as though longing to read its fine pages and get lost in the life of john moore - a western writer who was just so amazing. very rare to find one of his books since their so old - which is why alex likes reading them so much. "i thought you knew me better than that." he muttered, tossing some hair out of his face, "parties aren't a good match for me." he smiled crookedly before bending over to pick up some change he dropped a few moments ago.

"Something kinda [ woah )"Nira Hamilton Nira asked. Eh, it was alittle bit nosey to be asking about such things, but that's just how Nira was. She hated being the last one to know things, and since he had to do with people he knew for quite some time now it was kind of weird to see that no one had told her about it. Yes, it was probably all over the tabloids, but Nira had only so much time to read those things. A little ping of jealous rushed inside of Nira. Why hadn't Vivian told her about this? She made a mental note to talk with Vivian after this whole little blast from the past thing, she wanted to know what the Hell went on between them that was getting Alex to read gossip magazines. Yes, Nira had a few times where her little love flings we're plastered all over People Magazines and overs, but she had never really went out with someone in Hollywood, the people she hung out with we're too old for her anyways. This had to be weird for him. Nira could tell. Alex wasn't one to talk about things like this and Nira already knew that. When they was younger she tried to get him to tell her who he had liked at their school and he'd always turn red and never anwser. Smiling at the though Nira remembered that she never had a problem telling people who she liked. She'd want it to be known just so she could fuck up any girl that tried to mess anything up with her liking someone. For someone who was a prissy girly girl, Nira knew how to fight and she could talk Keaton and her real brother for that one. When Alex had send that he was nineteen, she couldn't believe it. Wow. He was really gorwing. Hair on his face and everything. He surely wasn't the boy he used to be. She couldn't say that ofcourse, since she had changed herself. She changed more then he did most likely. "Your old in my eyes Alex. I'm probably still young in your's, no matter how 'womanly' I look." Nira said with a teasing sound in her voice. Even though she had to agree with him on the whole 'womanly' thing. And you bet she was proud of that. Nira had noticed the people that have gave Alex good tips, I mean who payed ten dollars for orange juice anyways? Rolling her eye playfully, Nira let a cheesy smile onto her face. " You must like the tips we're getting, seeing that people are paying ten dollars for juice." Nira rested her elbows her elbows onto the counter and placed her head onto her heads. "I just don't get why you don't try to atleast make it big, or atleast play music somewhere at like a club or something." Nira told him. She was pretty sure she could get connections somewhere. She knew people, and if he wanted, she could get people, but that was all up to him. He probably didn't even care anyways. Alex wasn't one to care about Hollywood fame. Letting out a laugh, Nira added, "Yeah, your right." Nira added after he commented about her not leaving to far from here. Then said, "Then maybe I should show you around, well atleast to my friends or something. Maybe we could go out and ctach up on things, ya know?"Nira said with a smile. She was love to take Alex out, only because she wanted to hang out more with him, just like old times. sleep my whole life awayALEX PARKER Alex chuckled. for some reason, it always came as a shock to everyone that he, alex j parker, used to date one of the number one socialites on the scene. hilarious, as it was, he never really believed it until now. when he was actually dating vivian it was always... so... surreal that she chose him over all the other guys and he wasn't even close to a-list material. he was always a little awkward on the red carpet and even more awkward when they were going out and the photographers followed them around. it was a crazy life, but he was glad that that chapter of his life was over. he nodded sheepishly and tucked the magazine away before she could ask any more questions about it. "i did use to have a life, nira." he joked casually as he pulled out his stool and sat down. he had a feeling they would be catching up for a while yet.
He shrugged and sighed. "you have a point there, nira. you'll always be young in my eyes. even when we're both in your eighties and we've got bad backs and everything, i'll be asking how your barbies are doing." he smirked, running his fingers along the surface of the table. his fingers were a little bruised lately - he wasn't sure whether it was from the guitar, his exercise or just... something else. maybe he was beaten up every night but didn't notice it or something stupid like that. nevertheless, it bugged him since he was pretty health-savvy when it all came down to it. "tips are just little things that tell us what people really think of us. sometimes. i mean, unless they're all just cheap that is. but lately they've been getting bigger. or everyone is just busier." he shrugged meekly, running his fingers through his hair and tucking the tip away in the cash register. he didn't feel the need to keep the money himself since he really had nothing to buy. he had a good life even though it wasn't full of money and bling and all that shit that everyone else seemed to need to have at whatever cost or however much in dept in seemed to bring them.
Of course, Nira didn't know. she wouldn't know what alex had been doing in most of his spare time, but he decided that he might as well tell her - no matter how ashamed he was about it sometimes when he screwed up. "you'd be surprised, love. it gets quite crowded here on friday nights with local friends of mine and such. they come 'round to here me play, too. open mike night, you see. so many talented kids out there that are dying to be discovered. i've called up so many agents to come around and check them out but they all have so many better things to do. it's terrible." he shook his head and stared down at the tabletop. he glanced up at her from behind his locks and couldn't help but notice the way the sunlight hit her face and the way she smiled encouragingly as though trying to get him out of his little shell of life that he was pretty caught up in. "maybe i'll take you up on that. the catching up, i mean. not sure about meeting your friends - snobby and rich or not." he grinned.

"Something kinda [ woah )"Nira Hamilton Vivian and Nira were friends. They partied and went everywhere together, for her not to tell Nira that she was dating Alex was weird. Just thinking about it was weird. She never really paid attention to Vivian's dates anyways, Nira was to busy flirting or dancing with random people to even notice. Nira bit down hard on her lip once Alex sat down.Looking closer at his apperence, he really did look alot older. He looked so different now. Nira let out a small sigh. For a reason she wished things would rewine back to when they we're little. She had a feeling things we're not going to be as they used to. Whether it was going to be good or bad. Hopefully good. "Hey! I'm not that young. Only two years younger," Nira hated when people said she was'young', even though she usually was. Nira was used to be the youngest out of her friends. It was nothing new. She hang out with older people. She was known for it. More famous for it actually. She never really hung out with people her age. I mean who hung out with their age group in Hollywood anyways? "Well I'm pround of you and your business, Alex. Nira said truthfully. She would never run her own business, her father said she could, only because he had did it with his music business, but Nira always said she couldn't. She never tried, and didn't plan on it either. She was too busy hanging out with her friends and living 'the life'. She didn't know if Alex approved of things like that, so she kept things like that to herself. He probably didn't care though. He knew who she was, how she acted, and what she did for a living. It was nothing new to the public. Unless they living in a cave or something. "Ah, I see. Spending alittle bit to much time here, and not enough time out there." Nira said pointing out her finger towards to the door. She let out her famous little giggle, that never changed from the time they were younger. "And I see you're too busy hanging with your friends to come out and find me?" Nira said jokingly. Nira knew agents wouldn't come over to a little open mic. They usually went for the big open mic nights at clubs or something. Which is never new. They just never seemed to are about places like this. Nira faced turned red when he called her friends snobby. Not all of her friends were. She deciding not to respone to that because she knew she'd probably hurt his feelings, and she wasn't ready for Alex to be out of her life. Again.
